Core values (CEQRA) representing:
1. Collaboration: We work together with various partners for the benefit of deaf children and those with hearing impairment
2. Empathy: We understand the feelings and perspectives of deaf children and those with hearing impairment and their families
3. Quality: Our products and services have the ability to satisfy given needs of deaf children and those with hearing problem
4: Reliability: Our products perform intended function adequately for a specified period of time
5. Accountability: We have responsibility for our actions, behaviours, performance and decision
Our Mandate
To promote and protect the needs and aspiration of death children and those with hearing impairment in Kenya
Our objectives
(a) To enhance access to quality education for deaf and those with hearing impairment
(b) To increase access to information, services and resources available to the community
(c) To collect documents, disseminate information related to deafness and hearing impairment
(d) To lobby and advocate for the rights and interests of deaf and those with hearing impairment
(e) To promote research related to deafness and hearing loss
(f) To promote guidance and counseling services for deaf children and those with hearing impairment and their families
(g) To supplement the efforts of Kenya government to meet the needs of deaf children and those with hearing impairment
(h) To promote the institutionalization, development and use of Kenyan Sign Language (KSL)
(i) To collaborate and network with all stakeholders working for the welfare of families with deaf children and those with hearing impairment
(j) Generally to do anything that may be conducive towards the attainment of foregoing objectives
Governing Structure
The supreme authority of KSDC is the Annual General Assembly (AGA). The Governing Council shall be the governing body of the society, with control of all funds of the society and power to do direct all any activities consistent with the objects of the society. KSDC intends to retain the membership of Governing Council at 21 and Trustees at 5 over the next 5 years.
